Sandpiper Garden Help Needed!
4th Grade FLITE Students Perform
Friday, April 27th
Congratulations Sandpiper! We received a grade of "A" from the Arizona Department of Education! Thank you to all the teachers and staff for the knowledge, motivation and love you give to our students every day. Thank you to Ms. Cameron for your leadership and creating such a wonderful learning enviroment! Thank you to all the parents that support our school and have created a strong community. And thank you to our students for all your hard work at school!
We had a wonderful celebration on Monday, October 9th! Thank you to The Balloon People, Creative Cappuccino, and Fabulous Food Fine Catering and Events- the kids and teachers loved everything! We'd also like to thank Gretchen Birkett for her help in making a beautiful photo collage of our Sandpiper teachers!

PTO Meeting & Board Vote
Great job 4th Grade FLITE! These students performed a song in Spanish for the PV School Board on August 17th. We are asking again for your support for our teachers by participating in another Walk In event this Wednesday, April 18th beginning at 8:00am. Meet in front of Sandpiper at the flagpole and then walk with us to the corner of Thunderbird and 68th Streets where we will stay until about 8:30am, before we walk back as one to Sandpiper.
The Channel 3 helicopter is expected to fly over and film our Walk-In, so we need lots of parents, students, community members, and educators out there showing support!
We will once again be offering parents the opportunity to purchase their school supplies for next year in advance in a kit! Kits include the exact colors, quantities, and brands their teachers are requesting in a personalized box ready for your child’s first day of school. The kits will be waiting for your child in their classroom on the first day of school. No more lugging bags of school supplies into school on the first day, or driving around to various stores to find the exact items they need. Parents receive a discount on their supplies by purchasing the kit, and the Sandpiper PTO receives a % back from every kit sold! It's a win-win!
All orders will be done online. The deadline to order is June 15th!

Wednesday, April 18th
We all love our school garden and the kids can't wait to get back in there growing and eating their vegetables. The garden and your kids need you to make it happen!
Recess Garden Volunteers - Ongoing
Your Garden Team needs your help in bringing the opportunity to work in the garden during recess to all 630 students this year. The more parents we have the more often our kids can grow and eat their veggies. We are starting with Mondays. If we get enough volunteers for that day, we can add Thursdays. We need the most help from 10:45am-11:45am, but welcome help between 10:45am and 1:00pm. Click here to sign up to volunteer.
Tuesday, April 17th
Our final Family Restaurant Night of the year will be at Shake Shack in Kierland on Tuesday, April 24th from 3:00pm-10:00pm. Come hang out with other Sandpiper families while grabbing a bite to eat and supporting our school! A % of sales will go back to Sandpiper.

The final PTO Meeting of the school year will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at 3:30pm, right after school. PTO Board positions will be voted on at this meeting. All are encouraged to attend!
We will also be discussing the #RedforEd movement and how we as parents can get involved and support our teachers and school!

Sandpiper Receives an "A" Grade from the Arizona Dept of Education
Kona Ice will be for sale in Sandpiper Park at dismissal on Friday, April 27th.
Students should also ALL wear Yellow for a Student Council Spirit Day! Students should wear yellow because they are "superstars" and April 17th is the final day of our AZ state testing. Our students will "shine brightly" on these tests!
We need your help! Please consider finding a way to volunteer during the 2017-2018 school year. We know that everyone's schedule is different, so there are volunteer opportunities after school, during school and even from your own home!
