The average cost per homeowner will be only an additional $1.50 per month. This will be a BALLOT BY MAIL ONLY election. All registered voters in the election jurisdiction get a ballot in the mail and they can either return it by mail, drop it off at a Ballot Center or vote in-person at a ballot center. Our school is in need of a STACKABLE Washer and Dryer. If you have one that you'd like to donate to Sandpiper, please email us!
Garden Help Needed
We all love our school garden and the kids can't wait to get back in there growing and eating their vegetables. The garden and your kids need you to make it happen!
Recess Garden Volunteers - Ongoing
Your Garden Team needs your help in bringing the opportunity to work in the garden during recess to all 630 students this year. The more parents we have the more often our kids can grow and eat their veggies. We are starting with Mondays. If we get enough volunteers for that day, we can add Thursdays. We need the most help from 10:45am-11:45am, but welcome help between 10:45am and 1:00pm. Click here to sign up to volunteer.
Volunteers Needed for Food Recovery Program
Sandpiper's Food Recovery Program is starting up again! Food from the cafeteria (not home lunches) that are packaged and unopened will be donated to various homeless shelters via Waste Not AZ. Cafeteria food can not be taken home nor can it be re-used so as a result there is an abundance of apples, bananas, bars, cheese sticks, milks and juices that have to be thrown into the trash! Each week between 60-110 lbs is saved from the trash!
We need a few volunteers to help with this program's success. We need a parent or two to share the duty of putting food from the cooler in the cafeteria into the Food Bus Fridge (before pick up each day) and a Tuesday Morning volunteer (9:15ish) to wait for Waste Not to come collect our donation.
Please email Ronda Albus if you are interested in helping and if you are curious about the program! This is our 4th year running it with the seal of approval from the Health Department and the Superintendent!
